The Truth About: LeBron James

Ok, let me go ahead and get this one thing out there for everybody to despise about me: I hate LeBron James. Absolutely, positively, cannot stand the guy. He's arrogant, selfish, and as much of a bandwagoner as all of the fans of the team he plays for. He's a leader? Really? How come he couldn't "lead" the Cavs to the Finals? How come he had to "follow" the Heat there? (cue the Heat bandwagon fans).

Now, this much I will admit - he is the best active basketball player on planet Earth right now. The man makes plays that continue to shock me, leaving my jaw on the floor as I continue to loathe his presence. He can dominate the paint, make ridiculous passes across the court, and drain 3's from 4 feet behind the line. He works his ass off to be the best, and he is, indeed, the best.

So, why can't we compare him to Jordan?

I don't think people understand what made Jordan so great.

When Michael Jordan arrived in Chicago, the Bulls were one of the worst teams in the NBA. During Jordan's first few years with the Bulls, he took them from a losing record, to the playoffs, to an NBA Finals Chamionship three-peat from 1991-1993.

After 7 years with the Cavaliers, LeBron James left Cleveland and rode Dwayne Wade's and the Miami Heat's coattails to an NBA Championship.

Come on, guys. Need I say more? The stats are similar, the performances are undeniable, but what about the situation? To put things in perspective, Jordan taking the Bulls to the championship is comparable to Kemba taking the Bobcats to a championship. Believe me, if LeBron showed up in Charlotte and turned them into a championship team within a few years, THEN I'd compare him to Jordan. And honestly, if he managed to turn around the Bobcats, he honestly might be better.

But, for now, he'll stick with the team that has the biggest bandwagon.

And Michael Jordan continues to reign as the king.

Love it or hate it, it's The Truth.
